Pass Freedom Voting
Freedom Voting protects the will of the people by giving voters the freedom to choose all the candidates they like for each office.
Current voting laws, which restrict voters to choosing only one candidate per office, incentivize division over problem-solving. The good news? Pick-one voting is not a feature of our elections. It’s time to replace this outdated voting system with a one that actually rewards accountability, protects the will of the people, and encourages effective government. Freedom Voting can achieve this by giving voters the freedom to choose all the candidates they like per office, and not limit their choices to one.
Protects the will of the people: since voters can choose more than one candidate, vote-splitting and it’s negative effects are eliminated. Freedom Voting elects popular candidates with broad support, versus those with only narrow appeal.
Discourages divisive political tactics: personal attacks and mud-slinging are discincentivized as candidates seek to pick up additional votes from other candidates’ supporters. Candidates no longer have to depend on taking away votes from other candidates to win.
Increases accountability among political leaders: candidates are highly incentivized to engage the entire electorate and advance productive platforms while campaigning, and governing, in order to successfully pick up additional votes from wider voting blocs.
