Jim McKelvey and a conversation on election reform

Did you know that Jim McKelvey loves approval voting because it brings Americans together?

Jim McKelvey, Missouri native and co-founder of Block (formerly Square, Inc.), joined Show Me Integrity at an event on Sunday May 22 for a conversation about election reform. McKelvey noted that the biggest problem in Washington is “that you’ve got several separate camps of politicians who don’t talk to one another.” Implementing approval voting systems, he says, will help change this by creating new incentives for politicians to enact policies that better represent the will of the voters.

“Approval voting is a way better way of bringing people together,” McKelvey said, emphasizing that structural political reforms are critical to the future of our region, state, and nation.
